STEPHANIE & TIM
MARKETER & ACCOUNT MANAGER
a man and a woman standing in front of a ladder

WHAT DO YOU DO FOR A LIVING?

Stephanie works in digital advertising and social media marketing. Tim works in account management.

DO YOU HAVE HOBBIES OR SPECIAL TALENTS?

We both love traveling and reading. It is a passion that led us to start our travel and lifestyle blog, @circawanderlust, a few years ago. We try to bring the mutts with us on as many adventures and travels as often as we can. We're big on road trips, hole in the wall restaurants, and going off the beaten path. We also love food!

WHAT DRIVES YOU?

Tim says new things and experiences. Stephanie says learning new things. Rocky dreams of one day going to France so he can get in touch with his French Bulldog roots. He would like to find himself, and the meaning of life, as he strolls the Champs-Élysées. Kona wants to be one of the dogs that go into hospitals and visits with terminally ill patients. As president of the "Good Girls Club", she loves meeting new people and is a champion snuggle buddy so she would like to put those skills to good use someday.

DO YOU WORK FROM HOME, AND IF SO, WHAT SPACE DO YOU USE AS A MAKESHIFT OFFICE?

We both occasionally work from home. We use our loft, which is where we have our home office set up. You'll most likely find us on the 13th floor though, especially if it's nice out!

WHAT'S YOUR IDEAL ROAD TRIP?

When Stephanie was working for Dolly Parton, we lived in East Tennessee. For 2 years, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was our backyard. We love the National Parks System and public lands so any road trip that includes a National Park is a win in our book! We may or may not have planned out a 6 month long road trip that hits up all of the National Parks in the US.

WHICH PAST ERA INTRIGUES YOU THE MOST AND WHY?

Tim loves the 80's. "Technology was booming, everyone was fascinated with the future, and Prince was in his prime. It was also before Bobby ruined Whitney." Stephanie is a big history buff so she can't pick just one era. And she fully admits that being a cop out so she suggests the following: "Honestly, it all depends on my mood. Mondays are the start of the work week so I would be all about the roarin' 20's to keep that weekend vibe going with a Gatsby-style party. But on a rainy Wednesday it would be pretty cool to go to Ancient Egypt. Can I just be the Doctor's next companion so I can travel in the TARDIS and not have to pick just one?"

WHAT MOVIE PROP DO YOU WISH YOU OWNED?

Stephanie: The rocket from "Dr. Strangelove" & Tim: The basketball from "White Men Can't Jump"

I JAM OUT TO...

Tim: Anything but country. Stephanie: Everything, even Polka on a good day!

ON FRIDAY NIGHTS YOU CAN FIND ME...

Cuddled up together, watching a movie or reading. We like to be rested for Saturday and Sunday brunches.

CAN'T LIVE WITHOUT...

Tim: Simpsons (S1-S10 anything past S10 was garbage) and Futurama. Stephanie: My bullet journal. It literally has my whole life in there and without it, I don't think I could function. I could be deep and romantic and say that I can't live without Tim but we both know that it's the bullet journal. Rocket Man and Kona Pop: Each other (they really are baes) and tennis balls. And blueberries.

IF YOU HAD A BAND, WHAT WOULD THE NAME BE? WHAT GENRE?

Stephanie: My humanities teachers, Mrs. Dobbs and Mr. Honsa, always said the best name for a punk rock band would be the Neolithic Plastered Skulls and I couldn't agree more. Serisouly, google it. We would be UK 1970-esque Punk and it would be wicked awesome. Tim: Tequila Tim and the Limes. We would be a metal mariachi band with some hair metal ballads that covers anything but country.

DO YOU READ THE BOOK FIRST OR WAIT FOR THE MOVIE TO COME OUT?

Tim reads the book first. Stephanie has accepted that her "to read" list is already too long so while Tim reads the GoT books before he watches the shows, Stephanie is currently winning her office's GoT Pool.

WHY CHICAGO?

Why not? Seemed like a cool place to move the week before the polar vortex. True story, we live dangerously. (Read: Tim wanted to be a Blackhawks fan and when we lost Maddon from Tampa Bay, we knew we had to follow him to Chitown.)

ARE YOU AN INTROVERT OR EXTROVERT?

Best of both worlds and everything in moderation.

DO YOU HAVE A FOUR-LEGGED ROOMMATE? TELL US ABOUT HIM/HER.

Rocket Man and Kona Pop are their names and barking at the maintenance team is their game. Rocky is a black and white, larger than most other French bulldogs, who loves playing with other dogs and gets way too excited on elevator rides. He is constantly unimpressed (he's French after all) and snores like an old man. But we still love him. Kona Pop is a chihuahua-weenie mix who loves to take up the most space possible in the bed. She's a little shy, a little bossy, but the sweetest dog ever. Kona does not snore, she's perfect. And precious.

IN YOUR APARTMENT: WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE FURNISHINGS OR ART PIECES? DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOU GOT THEM AND/OR WHO DESIGNED OR CREATED THEM?

When you first walk in, we have a giant bright guitar hanging up in the hallway that my mom painted like 10 years ago. Our small details are very personal. We have something that we've picked up from all of our travels. There's a hand-carved box from when Stephanie was in Morocco, fingerprint art we purchased in New Orleans, a couple of Kilims from the Middle East (Saudi Arabia and Israel), some trinkets from a study abroad semester in Turkey, a Ganesha figure that showed up randomly, and things like that.
