RUN FOR THEIR LIVES

Kathryn frequents The Lawrence House lobby to study and to hang out with her significant other who lives in the building. Kathryn is a member of Team PAWS for the Chicago Marathon, aiming to raise $1,500 for the No Kill shelter in Chicago. This will be Kathryn’s 5th Chicago Marathon, and the PAWS cause is close to her heart as that’s where she rescued her two kittens, Nutmeg and Mocha.

DO YOU HAVE HOBBIES OR SPECIAL TALENTS?

I have a passion for baking, playing classical piano, running, and hiking.

“

FOR MARATHON TRAINING YOU GENERALLY INCREASE YOUR LONG RUN MILEAGE EVERY WEEK UNTIL YOU PEAK TO ABOUT 20-22 MILES ABOUT 3 WEEKS BEFORE RACE DAY. A TIP I HAVE FOR PEOPLE TRAINING FOR THEIR FIRST MARATHON IS TO NOT START WITH TOO MUCH MILEAGE IF YOU ARE NOT USED TO IT.

“

I ADOPTED MOCHA AND NUTMEG IN NOVEMBER. THEY ARE SISTERS AND ARE BOTH 7-MONTHS OLD.

“

THE CHICAGO MARATHON WILL BE MY 9TH MARATHON. FOR THIS ONE, I REALLY WANTED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR A GREAT CAUSE LIKE PAWS.
