ABOUT

Jenny Vyas is a Chicago-based artist whose HowWillYouRISE mural, located in the Clifton Avenue Street Art Gallery, explores how individuals rise from adversity, pain, and hate. In collaboration with Vyas, the multicolored paint splatters on the mural were applied by women and children experiencing homelessness and currently sheltered at Hannah House and Sylvia Center. WHAT IS YOUR MISSION?

To inspire people to rise from adversity and pain to seek out light from darkness.

WHAT SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE?

Murals, paintings, and public art.

HOW DOES YOUR BUSINESS GET INVOLVED IN YOUR COMMUNITY.

I create murals in collaboration with community members. Especially my #HowWillYouRISE murals that inspire growth and greatness from adversity and pain.

WHAT MOTIVATES YOU TO GET UP AND GO EVERY MORNING?

I began painting from a period of darkness and my art helped heal emotional wounds for me. Today, my art has become a platform for others to share their stories or insert their stories in the painting/mural and there's no greater gift.
