HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE INGRAINED FOR THOSE WHO ARE UNFAMILIAR?

Ingrained is a health foods company at the intersection of superfood apothecary and fun flavorful snacks. Our signature product is the frozen functional raw bar, followed by protein truffle balls, granola, hot tonics, and an abundance of other small fun baked goods. All flavors and products change daily. Most products sell out daily. Additionally, Ingrained is a lifestyle brand with a focus on helping people tune into their bodies at all times. We aim to nourish our customers’ bodies and minds so that when they eat it can be an act of self-love that results in sustained energy for active lifestyles.

YOU HAVE STATED THAT YOU HAVE A FASCINATION WITH HOW FOOD IS FUEL, AND A BELIEF THAT FOOD SHOULD PROVIDE YOU THE ENERGY TO DO THE THINGS YOU LOVE TO DO. HOW DO YOU GO ABOUT FINDING THE BEST INGREDIENTS TO HELP YOU ACHIEVE THAT?

We source only the highest quality ingredients we can find that still allow us to sell products to consumers at a reasonable price. We believe your number one investment for yourself, should be your health and wellness, then everything else in life can follow accordingly. Sourcing is never finished however it is something we are constantly striving to improve and will always be working on, we believe there is always something bigger and better and when we are in the hunt for the best it encourages our suppliers to do better.

WHAT HAS IT BEEN LIKE TO SWITCH FROM THE CORPORATE LIFE TO A FULL TIME BUSINESS OWNER?

It is not easy, and it doesn’t look like it will get easier anytime soon but it sure is fun and rewarding to help educate consumers one-by-one on the benefits of eating healthy. Health food can still taste incredible, and with a little bit of awareness and attention it can honestly change your life. The corporate world shaped me in many ways and I value the professional experience I gained over the past few years. I have a lot of respect for that space, too, and was not running from the corporate world. The calling to help others with their diets and relationship with food grew too large to do both, which is why I pivoted fully with launching Ingrained’s storefront.

HOW DO YOU KEEP UP WITH REQUESTS FOR FAN FAVORITES WHILE ALSO DEVELOPING NEW RECIPES?

Our storefront serves as an interactive incubator for fun and creative ideas; please stop in to tell us your journey with food, your favorite flavors and any ideas for products you would like to see on our menu and chances are you can taste it tomorrow (and we may even name the product line after you, or your inspiration!). Every day, we focus on making our fan favorites available to our loyal customers while constantly innovating and developing new recipes for the products on the shelf tomorrow. While we cannot fulfill all orders, we are very in tune and communicative with all of our customers, and maintaining authenticity has kept customers curious and coming back to try all new products.
