The Lawrence House welcomes a new diner offering breakfast, lunch, and dinner staples with a twist. Your favorite comfort foods are updated with braised lamb, duck confit, sauces, and glazes that remind you that you're in the company of a Michelin Bib Gourmand winning chef. Chef Ian Voakes along with partners Anthony Fiore and Jeff Mauro have teamed up to bring additional food options to the Uptown neighborhood. "Uptown has a lot of hidden gems," Ian said in a November Chicago Tribune article. Ian and Anthony are also behind the celebrated brunch spot, Jam in Logan Square.
The ambiance of the diner is light and airy, inviting passersby to grab a seat at the counter or meet a group in the cozy booths. Light fixtures and a brass triangular shelf mirror the art deco elements in the main lobby of The Lawrence House. Coffee is roasted by PassionHouse based in Logan Square just down the street from Jam. "When we move to Logan Square, the neighborhood didn't have a whole lot other than Lula Cafe. Now it's blossomed, and there are amazing bars and restaurants. We see similar inclinations in Uptown," Ian said.
3 Squares Diner is open from 7 AM - 9 PM, 7 days a week.
The diner counter at 3 Squares features pendant lighting that echos the art deco details of The Lawrence House.
